Enawgaw Mehari, MD

President/Founder of People to People

Dr. Enawgaw Mehari has a distinguished reputation for leadership in healthcare, most notably as founder and president of People to People, Inc., which has been in existence for approximately twenty-five years. He is also internationally recognized as an expert in neurology, pain management, and Neuro-AIDS. He earned his medical degree from Comenius University in Czechoslovakia, completed his neurology residency at the University of Kentucky, finished his fellowship in pain management and neurophysiology at Case Western University in Cleveland, and completed a fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, in Neuro-AIDS. Dr. Mehari has published in refereed journals, book chapters, Triangular Partnership the power of the diaspora (book), Introduction to Clinical Neurology and Manual of Ethiopian Medical History. Dr. Mehari through his p2p leadership has been instrumental in the establishment of Neurology residency program, Emergency Medicine Residency program at Black Lion Hospital, and Social Work Master /PhD program at AAU. In 2005, He founded the People's Free Clinic in Morehead, Kentucky, to provide free healthcare for the working poor. In 2006, Dr. Mehari won a distinguished service award from the Society of Ethiopians Established in the Diaspora (SEED), and in 2007, he was nominated as a CNN Hero— awarded by the cable network to everyday people around the globe who have made a major impact in the world. In addition, he was awarded a Humanitarian Award by the Black Hall of Fame, and the 2010 Patient Advocate award by the American Academy of Neurology. He has been granted the highest commendation by the Kentucky Governor’s office, Senate of the State of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He has been commended by the US House of Congress and was awarded the Abebe Bikila Award by Bikila Organization for his working community service. Dr. Mehari is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry, a diplomate of Neurology, Inc., and a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is an adjunct Clinical Professor of Neurology at Meharry School of Medicine, PikeVille University, Bonga University ,AAU and Bahir Dar University. His other engagements include board director for both ARTS TV and Arif Pay Financial Institute.

An experienced clinician and health system leader, skilled communicator, and dedicated team player, capable of leading and collaborating effectively.

Prof Mohammed M. Manga

Gombe State University, Gombe, Nigeria

Mohammed M Manga is a medical practitioner and a professor of clinical microbiology and infection prevention/control working with the Gombe State University and Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe Nigeria. His interest and passion for medical education pushed him to acquire an MSc Clinical Education from the University of Edinburgh. Prof Manga is the immediate past Provost of the college of Medical Sciences Gombe State University where he had earlier served as dean of faculty and head of department at different times. He had been a professor and member of the university senate while serving as chairman and member of different committees within the hospital / university and beyond. Manga's areas of research and commitment include sexually transmitted infections particularly human papillomavirus, infection prevention and control, patient safety, antimicrobial resistance/stewardship and transdisciplinary approach to combating infections in low resource settings. Prof Manga is the president of International Papillopmavirus Society (IPVS) Nigeria chapter, Papillomavirus Society of Gombe Nigeria (PSGN) and a member of many professional bodies in his areas of interest. He has published numerous journal articles and has presented at several conferences locally in Nigeria and internationally.

Dr.Egbe Osifo-Dawodu

MD MBA MSc MRCP Founding Partner, Anadach Group

Dr. Egbe Dawodu MBBS, MBA, MSc, MRCP is a founding Partner of the Anadach Group where she leads the Management Consulting and Clinical Service Improvement Product Lines. Her primary areas of focus have been hospital restructuring, due diligence evaluation, strategic planning and implementation. Dr. Osifo-Dawodu was previously an Adviser at the Innovation Practice at the World Bank Institute. Prior to joining the innovation practice, as one of the core members of the Nelson Mandela Institution's management team she helped develop and start the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja - a Pan African University with Graduate Students from over 20 African Countries. She previously managed the Human Development Group at the World Bank Institute where she was responsible for the World Bank's capacity building programs in health, education and social protection. She has a relatively unusual background in the World Bank Group having led and worked on both health policy dialogue and projects with Governments at the World Bank and with the private health sector projects at the International Finance Corporation. At the World Bank, Dr. Osifo-Dawodu was a health specialist in the Middle East and North Africa, and East Asia Regions. She led the World Bank's policy dialogue on key health issues in Egypt, Yemen and West Bank and Gaza. She also participated in policy dialogue on health issues in Jordan and Morocco. At the IFC, she led the IFC negotiation and structuring of investment packages for a Specialty Clinic in the Philippines and a specialized developing country health equity Fund domiciled in the US. She also provided specialist advice on hospital projects in Mexico, Vietnam, and South Africa, and responsible for assessing/due diligence the viability of several IFC potential investments in health and education in several countries in Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In addition, Dr. Osifo-Dawodu also worked with Booz, Allen and Hamilton on healthcare projects in the US and South Africa. Dr. Osifo-Dawodu is a qualified medical doctor and a member of the UK Royal College of Physicians. She holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, an MSc from Oxford University and MBBS from the University of Ibadan. She has authored several articles, contributed to books and was the lead author of“Establishing Private Health Care Facilities in Developing Countries: A Guide for Medical Entrepreneurs". World Bank Institute. 2007. (with Seung Hee Nah) Dr. Osifo-Dawodu belongs to several professional organizations including the American College of Physician Executives and the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas. She was also on the advisory boards of Sproxil which focuses on innovative applications of its Mobile Phone Authentication technology, and the Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media. She was a member of the technical committee for the African Development Bank E-Health Awards and as a member of the joint Pfizer/M-Health Alliance ageing and m-health working group. Dr. Osifo-Dawodu was also an Expert Reviewer for the Health Sector in the E-Transform Africa Study – a joint initiative by World Bank, African Development Bank and African Union. She is often invited to peer review grants and journal articles on health in emerging markets.

Dr Adefemi O. Afolabi has the academic title of Reader in the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria and he is a Consultant General Surgeon in the subspecialty of Endocrine Surgery. He was a Sub-Dean of Postgraduate Studies of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences of the University of Ibadan and a former Director of Clinical Services, Research, and Training at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He is currently the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, University of Ibadan Branch.

Dr. Berhanu Alemayehu, DrPH is a health economist, applied statistician, and educator with over 20 years of experience in health economics, outcomes research, and advanced analytics. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at Rutgers Business School, teaching Business Statistics and Enterprise Architecture. He has also taught statistics at Rutgers University, Baruch College (CUNY), Lansing Community College, and the University of Texas.​Dr. Alemayehu earned his doctorate in Health Economics and Health Policy from the University of Michigan and holds an MS in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Texas. In addition to his academic career, he has held senior leadership roles at Merck, AstraZeneca, Novo Nordisk, and Medco Health Solutions, leading teams and conducting clinical and real-world data analyses across multiple therapeutic areas.​His research has had national impact, including work cited in the 2012 U.S. Supreme Court Affordable Care Act decision. He combines rigorous analytical expertise with practical industry leadership to inform healthcare policy and decision-making.
