Dr. Esther Oshunluyi Nurse educator, global health leader, and health systems strategist Dr. Esther Oshunluyi is a nurse educator, global health leader, and health systems strategist with extensive experience in nursing education, population health, and health workforce development. She has contributed to curriculum strengthening, faculty development, and institutional capacity building at the Edo State College of Nursing Sciences and the Edo State College of Health Sciences and Technology, supporting innovation in health professions education within low- and middle-income settings. Esther’s work integrates leadership, policy, and technology to improve healthcare delivery and education, with a growing focus on the ethical and practical application of artificial intelligence in nursing practice, education, and health system efficiency. Dr. Oshunluyi trained as a nurse in Nigeria, obtained her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in the USA in Nursing Administration and Population Health leadership from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of San Francisco, California respectfully. Dr. Oshunluyi brings a strong nursing perspective to global conversations on AI, equity, and the future of healthcare education in Africa and beyond. Dr. Kechi Achebe MD, MPH, Global Health & HIV expert Dr. Kechi Achebe is an experienced public health physician, scientist, and researcher, with more than 20 years of technical, programmatic, and leadership experience in public health and clinical medicine. A recognized global expert in the area of global health–especially HIV, tuberculosis and related diseases, she has worked and led the design and delivery of public health programs globally Dr. Achebe is the Director of the Office of Global Health and HIV (OGHH). In this role, she leads the development, policy direction, design and technical support of PC’s Global Health & HIV programs, to address malaria; maternal, newborn, and child health; HIV/AIDS; TB; reproductive health services, COVID-19 and other emerging global health threats; and community health systems strengthening, in the 64 countries where PC is present.. She also serves as PEPFAR Deputy Principal, representing Peace Corps to the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Health Diplomacy at State Department (S/GAC). From 2013 to 2020, Dr. Achebe served as the Senior Director for HIV/AIDS and TB programs, at Save the Children USA, as well as the organization’s management lead on its partnership with the Global Fund, in Geneva. Prior to that, she was the Director of the office of Health and HIV/AIDS at Africare, all based in Washington DC. Her extensive work experience covers Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, The Caribbeans and the USA. Dr Achebe also served as member and advisor to the UNITAID civil society board, and as the principal investigator on many CDC/NIH and PEPFAR funded projects. She has authored and has published white papers, technical support documents, and peer-reviewed publications. Her research focused primarily on developing strategies to reduce the global burden of infectious and non-communicable diseases, promoting health and addressing health disparities, especially amongst the vulnerable and marginalized population, and community health systems strengthening. In addition to her oversight of multi-million-dollar research and development programs, Dr. Achebe has a strong record of working closely and successfully with various governments; multilateral/bilateral agencies, and host-country governments. She is passionate about community development and engagement; and is loved by the community members wherever she works. Dr. Achebe holds a medical degree (MD) from the University of Benin in Nigeria, and a master’s degree in public health (MPH) from Boston University. She obtained a fellowship in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Boston University School of Medicine and Public Health and a certificate in management from Yale University’s School of Management, CT. He has served as the CEO of the Black Lion Teaching Hospital and Dean of the School of Medicine at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. He is a Professor of Surgery (General and Thoracic Surgery). He holds full professor faculty positions at UGHE, Addis Ababa University, and the University of Rwanda, as well as a professorship in global health at Duke University. He has received fellowships in Medical Education from FAIMER in Philadelphia, Simulation-Based Education from the University of Washington, and Surgical Leadership from the Harvard Medical School. He has extensive experience in medical and surgical education, spanning over 22 years and is a fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Master Surgical Educators of the American College of Surgeons. ​ Professor Abebe is the Secretary General of the College of Surgeons of East Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), he is the Editor-in-Chief of the East and Central Africa Journal of Surgery and sits on the editorial board of the JAMA Health Forum, BMC Medical Education, and the Ethiopian Medical Journal. He has published over 140 articles and book chapters and received several regional and international awards, including the CUGH Distinguished Leadership Award in 2024. He serves as a member of the advisory councils and boards of the Ethiopian Ministry of Sciences and Higher Education, the WHO Council on Learning and Capacity Building in Health Emergencies, the Global Surgery Foundation, and the African Forum for Research and Education in Health. He is also the founder and the secretary-general of the Consortium of Medical Schools of Africa (COMSA). ​ Professor Abebe is actively engaged in Global Safe Surgery and has served as a senior advisor to the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopia, in the Saving Lives Through Safe Surgery initiative. He is the founder and current chairman of the Pan African Surgical HealthCare Forum (PASHeF). His research interests include trauma, surgical oncology, equity in global surgery, and education. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. and M.Ed. from the University of Georgia’s Department of Learning, Leadership, & Organization Development, where she was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Graduate. She also holds two additional Master’s degrees in Personnel Management and HRD. As a Certified Qualitative Researcher, Dr. Yogitta’s work critically examines the intersection of AI and human capability, alongside leadership, gender studies, and healthcare. Her career spans prestigious institutions across the globe, including faculty positions at Symbiosis International University and Western Carolina University in the USA. A committed global academic, she has successfully forged international partnerships with schools like SOAS-UK and ESC Claremont France and runs a regular Virtual Exchange Program. Her research is published in top-tier Q1/Q2 journals, and she has actively contributed to the Academy of HRD, USA, including a nine-year tenure as Chair of its India SIG. Dr. Tequam Worku, DrPH, MPH Chief Operating Officer of the One Health Global Alliance Moderator Dr. Tequam Worku, DrPH, MPH, is a public health leader and policy strategist with extensive experience advancing evidence-based solutions at the intersection of research, global health, and equitable policy. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of the One Health Global Alliance, where she provides strategic and operational leadership across activities.
