People to People (P2P) Successfully Holds the 2026 High-Level Contributor Recognition Ceremony
On July 16, 2026, People to People (P2P) successfully held its 2026 High-Level Contributor Recognition Ceremony at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. The event celebrated the outstanding contributions of individuals, institutions, partners, and volunteers whose dedication has strengthened education, health, and community development through lasting partnerships. The ceremony was honored by the presence of H.E. President Taye Atske Selassie, H.E. Dr. Mekdes Daba, Minister of Health, H.E. Ambassador Fitsum Arega, Director General of the Ethiopian Diaspora Service, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic community, development partners, and other distinguished guests. H.E. President Taye Atske Selassie commended People to People for its continued contribution to Ethiopia’s development by connecting Ethiopian professionals in the diaspora with institutions at home and promoting sustainable partnerships. He also emphasized the importance of recognizing those whose dedication and service continue to make a meaningful difference. H.E. Dr. Mekdes Daba, Minister of Health, acknowledged the important role of People to People and Ethiopian diaspora professionals in strengthening the country’s health system through knowledge sharing, professional volunteer service, and institutional collaboration. H.E. Ambassador Fitsum Arega, Director General of the Ethiopian Diaspora Service, highlighted the valuable contribution of Ethiopian diaspora professionals and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the diaspora, national institutions, and development partners for the benefit of the country. During the ceremony, Dr. Anteneh Habte, Chair of the P2P Board, reflected on the organization’s journey and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding sustainable partnerships that improve lives and create opportunities for communities in Ethiopia and beyond. The event concluded with the presentation of recognition awards to distinguished contributors, volunteers, partner institutions, and organizations whose commitment and support have played a significant role in advancing the mission of People to People.
